For Real Equality Weddings Featured Laura & Amy’s

We are so honored that this amazing wedding site has featured our same sex wedding photography at For Real Equality Weddings Featured Laura and Amys Wedding

Relive Photography wrote, “Two beautiful souls have come together to be married among family and great friends. Their wedding rehearsal dinner was held first at the home in Aubrey Texas with amazing Babes chicken.

Wedding day was so sweet with a chapel wedding at the Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton Texas followed by one of the prettiest wedding decor designed with tons of fabulous florals, a cigar bar, a great Lady Gaga Impersonator that did quite a show!”

Earlier we had posted about there meeting and falling in love! I want to post that again here to give the sense of TRUE LOVE that Amy and Laura have for one another.  My heart melts when I read this and so will yours…

Amy and Laura are renewing their vows in November and wanted to do everything from Engagement Photography session to rehearsal dinner photography and of course wedding day photography. This photo session included their adorable dog and also served as a save the date photography session as well. Their story is so super sweet and embodies “Soul Mate” material. I asked for their story in their words and this is what Laura and Amy shared – (Must read – to awesome not to!)

In Laura’s words:  “It’s hard to contain all of our greatness in a short paragraph :)))))))) let me know what you think. I can condense if you need me to”

Amy and I met (for the first time), about 4 years ago at the resort I worked at in San Antonio. She was a frequent guest of ours, coming and staying for months at a time. I had always known her, as did everyone at the hotel. She was easy to talk to, down to earth, and a breath of fresh air compared to other guests. There was always something about her, I felt. She had this energy that drew you in like the strongest magnet possible and I was a little paper clip, always coming towards her a little at a time. What I didn’t know is that 4 years later I would be higher up in management, and I just happened to be in charge of guests like her, VIP’s we called them. As time went on Amy and I began a working relationship. She would need a room at the last minute, and I would make sure we had it open for her. Amy was dedicated to her job, and just knew me as Laura from the hotel, until that faithful night; I was to take her on a business dinner.

As the stars aligned and God had his way, Amy and I had dinner every night after that. I never imagined I would have a soul mate, let alone find mine to be so amazingly wonderful. We dated for a month…well…45 days as Amy likes to say before we decided to get married in San Francisco on November 22, 2013.

The day we got married was very intimate, it was just her and I and a limo driver that we hired for the day. I wore white, she wore navy and I carried flowers that she picked up from a downtown street flower vendor. It was just about us that day, two soul mates making an everlasting commitment to each other.

This year, on our one year anniversary we will be having the wedding of our dreams. All of our family and all of our friends are so excited to be a part of something so meaningful to us. The ceremony will be held at The Little Chapel In The Woods at the TWU campus (where Amy’s mother and aunt got married), and the reception will be at Ashton Gardens.

Every night, after the day has passed Amy leans over to me and says, “I would marry you again today, would you say yes?” And I respond “In a heartbeat.”

The Chapel Ana Villa – Wedding for Amanda and Lorence

Amanda and Lorence have a very special energy which was very clear on their wedding day. This wedding was SO MUCH FUN!

It started when they met through friends. A woman Amanda teaches with, her now husband, played on the same soccer team as Lorence. They had met before so at their freinds wedding they had started talking, then that led to dancing, then that led to exchanging numbers, to seeing each other again, and again, and now every day. 🙂 They were dating just over a year when Lorence asked Amanda to marry him.

The engagement – In Amanda’s words- “He sent me on a scavenger hunt. I got clues from friends leading me to knew places that has meaning to us. Eventually being blind folded and pushed in his direction. He asked me to marry him and when I said yes there was a roar of applause and a surprise engagement party for us.”

They love colors and anything unique. Amanda was inspired by a photo of girls wearing all different colored shoes, and her vision expanded from there. The wedding falling close to the 4th of July was just an added bonus to this colorful theme. She didn’t want it to be a “rainbow” theme, but random splashes of color against black. She wanted everything to be fun and beautiful. This was definitely accomplished. Here are some amazing pictures of this great wedding day!

The Love Story of Blake and Jami

The Love Story – The Wedding Proposal – She Said Yes! Here is The Story of Blake and Jami… The story in Blake’s words:

This is a story of serendipity and wonder. A tale of unprecedented coincidence and attraction. I wouldn’t believe it either, but it happened and continues to happen to me everyday.

I had just wrapped up the end of a relationship in November, and wasn’t looking for anything other than projects to focus my attention and get my life back in an order I could handle. I enrolled in an online video marketing course with the intention of world domination – as most of us do when we enroll in programs that offer us the ability to reach and influence new audiences. I’m a BIG dreamer, clearly. Two weeks into this program, a name, a face, a very small avatar kept showing up and for some reason I couldn’t look away. There’s something about her. Why? Who was she? Jami Bryant.

We opened a strictly professional dialogue that remained completely professional for all of 48 hours. Then, we told stories of past lives, opportunities lost, lessons learned, dreams and hopes for the future, and beer. I liked her. She felt good in my heart, even though we were a thousand miles apart and I barely knew her.
I found myself smiling thinking about talking to her…and smiling WHEN talking to her. I told her that as forward as it may sound, I would like to go out with her. Not thinking anything of it -because we’re 1000 miles apart- I let it ride. The feelings, however, had other plans.

We began to talk about real things – real dreams, real history, real worries and wonders and wants. Suddenly I was enchanted by this woman. We saw the world the same. We wanted the same ridiculous things. We dreamt of the same experiences and travels. We were finishing each other’s sentences.

I was beginning to really care about her. We took it to second base (in internet dating, that’s video chat). We talked about our day at work, what we had planned for the coming days, and what we wished we could do if we didn’t have to work. This time, however, we could SEE each other. It was like having dinner across from someone nearly every night for two hours. Talking, laughing, sharing… I was falling in like. No question.

I keep a Dream Box next to my bed. Every night I write what I’m thankful for on a little sheet of paper, and on the other side I write what I want for the future. I fold it up and place it in the box every night. Most of my notes are about people and work, and attracting prosperity. But….
One night BEFORE I met Jami, I wrote a completely different note. I described at length the relationship I wanted. I described the feelings, the love, the laughing, the driven spirit of this future person. I described her character and what it will feel like with her.

I thought nothing of it, folded it and put it in the box.
Fast forward to the middle of December, I can’t get that little note out of my head. How fortuitous that this brilliant, beautiful, talented, loving, goofy woman with a smile that melts hearts has somehow become the object of my affection… and me hers. Really, what are the chances?

Our first plan was for me to get on a plane and visit her at the end of January, but by her own admission, there was no way she was going to be able to handle that. Instead she booked a flight to see me for NYE. It was very, very brave of her. “Wow, I can’t believe I’m doing this…” she said. She booked that flight to Chicago and we counted down the days until she arrived, talking every day and growing closer. My mind started wandering off into completely unfamiliar territory – where possibilities and emotions danced a step few of us are lucky learn. With my heart at the wheel, I picked up the rhythm as if it was my own, and away I danced in wonder.
When she arrived, I met her at baggage claim with a peppermint mocha (she loves peppermint), and all we could say to each other in that crowded airport was, “hi.” Then we stood in silence for 5 minutes and hugged.

Over the next few days we had our first real date. Our first real kiss. Our first morning together. Our first kiss across treadmills (yep, we like to run).
After our first and only lunch with my family, she felt so comfortable with everyone… and they loved her in return. They accepted her and loved her and took her in. Every time she looked over at me, she noticed how awestruck I was – just bathing in the wonder of all the beauty and awesomeness going on right at the time.
We’re going to open up my dream box and read that silly little note to the Universe one day, and see just how spot-on and accurate that “silly” note really was.
We haven’t missed a day together since the end of November, and I can say with complete, unwavering conviction, I fell in love with her. I AM in love with her. Unlike anything I’ve ever felt. Some may say it’s crazy. I don’t mind. I wouldn’t trade a moment of this crazy love for a lifetime of safe, predictable, standard love.
So I invite you all (assuming millions of people are reading this–I’m a BIG dreamer, remember?) to follow us. Check back from time to time and see what we create together and share with the world. If nothing else, it will be a great story.
? Blake

Traditional Engagement Photography for Christina and Matthew

Christina and Matthew are Getting Married! Both graduates of Texas A&M University, these two will be a great bride and groom. I am so excited for them and the fact that they are getting married of course, but also since Christina is our best friends daughter. I get such a thrill out of being able to take part in such a huge momentous occassion for people that I love. Christina and Mathew are not my usual style client but are more traditional. Of course this is a great transition from the artistic photography that I normally do. I love tradition and I love being able to work with such a great variety of styles and choices from my brides and grooms. Now these images are a sneak peak for this beautiful couple. I can not wait to see their gorgeous wedding day!

Garden Wedding Day for Cristina and Jonathan

Do you every have that feeling that when you meet someone the first time that you may have met the Love of your life? Cristina and Jonathan got married at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens this past weekend. I am pretty sure that these two have that Love at First Sight kind of Love. The sweet kind that melts your heart when you meet a couple. That is Crisitna and Jonathan!

The Arboetum was perfect for their wedding ceremony that was intimate yet stunning, from the family and friends love for this couple to the sheer beauty of their surroundings. The union was held by Margaret Weymann Atkinson who also did a gorgeous job at playing the Harp throughout the pre and post ceremony. We had a great time wandering the grounds and finding perfect settings around every corner. Really! If you have never been to the Arboretum, it is quite the sight.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know this wonderful couple and their super kind families. Congratulations to you both.
